Karen Jacobs: Artist Statement
At an early age, I began to visually express my inner emotions in journals with colored pencils. Over time, this creative venture sparked a spiritual desire within me to delve within my senses to discover the unknown in the abstract world. For me, abstract art provokes a deep sense of mysticism, along with various healing components. Exploring design, color, form, and pattern is my focus throughout my process with the desire to express surreal and metaphysical elements not often expressed in traditional terms. I prefer to design non-objective and objective elements juxtaposed with colored pencils. This process provides a conduit through which I am most able to access original thought, hidden memories and an ever changing desire to create.
I currently reside in Brewster, N.Y. and feel ultimately blessed to share my work as my creative ventures are divinely and energetically inspired.
